Lukas, the stage name of Lucas Freire (João Pessoa, 1979), is a Brazilian DJ and producer regarded as one of the pioneers of hard techno in his country. He started DJing professionally in 2000 and opened his own club, Kraft, in Campinas in 2003. His first international tour came in 2004 at the invitation of DJ Rush. With Fernanda Martins, his artistic and personal partner, he runs the labels Devotion, Hardwork and Audiocode, and the two regularly present a four-deck show that has taken them to clubs and festivals across Europe and the Americas. His sound is fast, dense, percussive techno close to schranz.
