DJ Pepo, the stage name of José María Álvarez del Real, is one of the pioneers of techno in Spain. He started out in the late 1980s in Madrid clubs such as Attica, Saratoga, New World and Van Vas, became famous in the 1990s for mixing on three and four decks and has played festivals such as Monegros Desert Festival and Aquasella; he names Front 242 and Orbital among his influences. With 2M GROUP he has played the official Front 242 after-party at Sala Etnia in Madrid and Yuncler Remember Festival, both in 2024.
